Marketing, Email Communications and Opt Out
SRGC regularity sends email to its current members such as meeting announcements, upcoming event descriptions, society business like election information, membership renewal reminders and relevant news about other genealogical societies. SRGC may occasionally send promotional email about its genealogical meetings and events to former members. Said communications can be selectively or completely disabled. Contact SRGC for options. See also the right of erasure below. SRGC does not sell or otherwise provide members' personal information to third parties for the purpose of marketing.

Cookies
Cookies are very small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit some websites. While SRGC does not directly insert cookies into your computer, it is possible that some of the functionality that our vendor builds into the website will do so. Access to Your Personal Information
You have the right to view, amend, or delete the membership information that we hold about you. Members who log-in to the website can directly view their membership information and update some of it. A log-in name and password is provided in the initial welcome letter. If you’ve misplaced your log-in name or password, use the question mark buttons on the log-in screen to be emailed new ones. Or contact SRGC with questions or any assistance requests.

Membership Directory
SRGC displays only to members an online membership directory that, by default, lists your name and some contact information. If you wish to not display some information or to not be listed, contact SRGC.

Rectification of Personal Information
If any of the information we hold on you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may ask SRGC to correct or complete it at any time.

Your Right of Erasure, or to be Forgotten
If you are an SRGC member and do not renew your membership. your membership record is archived and thus available to be reactivated in the event you later decide to rejoin. To request deletion of your membership record, contact SRGC. using the email address we hold for you. If you use a different communication method, please provide sufficient contact information so that we can verify your identity.

This privacy notice does not cover the links within this site linking to other websites. Those sites are not governed by this Privacy Policy, and if you have questions about how a site uses your information, you’ll need to check that site’s privacy statement.

Security

SRGC does not collect sensitive information like U.S. Social Security numbers or birth dates. Your log-in passwords cannot be viewed by SRGC volunteers, although they can reset if you so request. We take precautions to protect your personal information that we do collect (i.e., contact details like address, phone, email). When you submit such information, it is protected both online and offline. It is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. When submitting online, you can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar or for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page. While we use encryption to protect personal information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only volunteers who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to all of your personally identifiable information. The computer servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment by our vendor EasyNetSites.
