MISSION: Our mission is to stimulate an interest in studying family history and genealogy, and assist persons who are researching their family history.  Whether a person begins their search with documents and a name, or through a DNA test, searching for family members is what we do.

UPDATE FOR 2022

The Roseville Genealogical Society Board of Directors would like to inform you of some of the changes that will be occuring this coming year.  As things are slowly re-opening, we will be doing the same.  Beginning in January, our Discussion Group Meeting will be held at the Roseville Main Library at 225 Taylor Street.  It will be held at 1:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month.  The meeting room is large enough to promote social distancing.  We will adhere to the mask mandate of the city.  We will be viewing webinars that will be of interest to those researching family history, followed by a discussion on the subject and any other questions members may have.  If you are unable to attend, we will continue to provide ZOOM access.

Our Regular (Speaker) Meeting will continue to be via Zoom thru March.  It will be held at 1:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the Month.  Our board meeting will follow.

Currently, we have a table at the main library staffed by members to assist walk-ins with questions.  The day and time vary at present.  We will post the schedule in our monthly newsletter. We would like to extend this to the other library branches; however, to do so we need more volunteers.

Also, we are still providing our Book A Genealogist program.  You can contact us for a free one hour family history research consultation via ZOOM, telephone, or in person at the Roseville Main Library.  A volunteer will discuss members’ research efforts and goals.  Email rgsca03@gmail.com to request an appointment.  Enter Book a Genealogist in the subject line of the email.

The RGS Newsletter is published monthly and may be found on the RGS website. Inside you will find facts, hints and local events to help in your research. Web site: https://srgcouncil.org/cpage.php?pt=24.

Our Genealogical Library Collection is located in the Roseville Main Library at 225 Taylor Street.  Catalog access is only available at: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/rgsca.  Members may check out a book by contacting our librarian through our email and requesting the desired book.  Email rgsca03@gmail.com and request librarian in subject line.

We hope all of you will consider renewing your membership and perhaps recommend our society to your friends who are interested in family research.  Our membership fees are our main source  of revenue for the society, and we operate on a very limited budget.

We look forward to seeing and sharing our research with one another in the coming year.  Until then, Happy Holidays to everyone.
