GSVB - Benicia City Cemetery Tour Field Trip  (Field Trip)
1:30 pm
Benicia City Cemetery 150 Riverhill Dr. in Benicia, CA
The Genealogy Society of Vallejo-Benicia is having an outdoor field trip for our May meeting.

We are visiting the Benicia City Cemetery which has over 4,000 people interred in 24 acres and is still currently in use. The City Cemetery was founded over 175 years ago in 1847. It is the burial place for historical figures such as Edward Von Pfister, a former sea captain, who established the first general store in the area (now known as the Von Pfister Adobe).

Mr. Larry Miller will be leading us on a tour of this historic cemetery. He is a former member of the cemetery commission and knows the history of the cemetery.

The address is 150 Riverhill Dr. in Benicia. From Vallejo take 780 West and then take the East Second Street exit. Turn to your left and then take the first right onto Riverhill Drive which is across from McDonald's. The cemetery is at the end of the road.

Wear your walking shoes and a sun shading hat. Please join us and enjoy a walk in the past on a beautiful spring day. See you then.
