Genealogical Records at the California State Archives

The presentation will go over the various records available at the California State Archives that are of genealogical interest and will provide researchers the tools necessary not only to locate those records, but records of genealogical interest at other Archival facilities.   Records discussed will include records from San Quentin and Folsom prisons, local county governments, immigration and naturalization records, licensure files, mining records and more.  Session Handout:  Click here.
 
About Chris M. Garmire:
Chris Garmire is currently the research services manager at the California State Archives where he has worked for 17 years, 3 and half of which has been as the Research Services Manager.  Previous to working at the State Archives, he worked as a grant archivist at the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming and obtained a certificate in Archives and Records Management Western Washington University.
