About Sharon Melbert-Scherr:
Sharon Melberg-Scherr was born in Northern Minnesota and came to California in 1955.
Sharon taught high school English and Drama before becoming a Registered Nurse in 1975.
Sharon moved to Northern California in 1980 and was Assistant Director, Hospital and Clinics, Director for General Nursing Services at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, retiring in 2006. She has three children, five grandchildren. She is a Mayflower descendent of Stephen Hopkins through his daughter, Constance.
Sharon has taught classes and published articles about various nursing topics, including pain management, death and dying, organizational ethics, health care policy and ethical decision making.
